Creating Tests

Catchpoint provides a variety of tests types, enabling you to monitor the performance of virtually any web-based service or server. This article covers the general process of creating and configuring tests, as well as settings that are common to all test types. Each test type also has its own unique configuration options. If you just need to see information related to a specific test type, you can select it by clicking the desired test type link at the bottom of this article.

Create a Test

  1. Log into the Catchpoint Portal, select the Control Center icon Control_Center_Button_Collapsed.png in the main navigation on the left, and then select "Tests."
  2. Select the product or folder you wish to create a test in
  3. Click the "New" button at the top of the main panel.
  4. If a product or folder was not selected before clicking new that Select a Product, or Folder to create a new product or folder to contain the new Test. Creating Products and Folders
  5. Select a Test and Monitor Type.
  6. If a product or folder was not selected before clicking new and selected a test and monitor type a product or folder will be re required to be selected now as a test location.
  7. The remaining steps will vary depending on which test type you are configuring, and whether you want certain settings to be inherited from the Product or Folder containing the test.
