Overview

It is often beneficial to monitor a SaaS application using multiple tests of different types to get a complete picture of its performance. Test Suites allow you to create a set of preconfigured tests for a specific application all at once, rather than manually creating each test individually. Just configure a few basic settings and the Suite will be created with all tests up and running.

Each test suite is pre-configured to run the DNS Experience, Ping TCP, and Web Object monitors. Alerts for each monitor are also pre-configured based on best practices.

Supported Applications

Catchpoint's provides Test Suites for the following applications. If there is a service you use that you would like to be able to monitor with a Test Suite, you can let us know by creating a feature request in the Share Your Feedback section of the Resource Center (in the "?" menu).

  • Google Cloud Platform
    • Big Query
    • Cloud Spanner
    • Cloud Storage
    • Compute Engine

Creating a Test Suite

  1. Log into the Catchpoint Portal, select the Control Center icon Control_Center_Button_Collapsed.png in the main navigation on the left, and then select "Tests."
  2. Click the "New" button at the top of the main panel. This opens the test creation blade.
  3. Select Test Suite,
  4. Select the application you want to monitor with your Test Suite.
  5. Select a location (Product and/or Folder) for this Test Suite
  6. Complete the Test Suite configuration fields.
    • Input a Name for this Test Suite and optional Description.
    • If desired, set the Run From timeframe for this Test Suite (by default the Suite will begin running immediately and continue running indefinitely.
    • In the Targeting section, select one or more nodes to run this Test Suite from. We recommend selecting a combination of Cloud and Enterprise nodes.
    • Input one or more recipients for alerts (or you may disable alerts if desired.)
