For several of Catchpoint's test types, it is possible to convert an existing test from one type to another. This is a more streamlined process than deleting a test and creating a new one, and it preserves any historical test data generated by the test prior to the conversion.
The following test types support conversion to any of the other listed test types:
• Web Test
• Transaction Test
• API Test
• Playwright Test
• Puppeteer Test
To convert a Test from one type to another:
- Log into the Catchpoint Portal and navigate to Control Center > Tests
- Locate the desired Test. You can access the Convert feature by clicking the test's 3-dot menu and selecting Convert, or by opening the test's properties and clicking Convert Test at the upper right.
- In the Convert Test pop-up, use the dropdown to select the type of test that you want to convert this test to. When you make your selection, the Fields not Retained and Fields to Complete sections will list settings you may need to fill in after conversion. Click Convert.
- The Test Properties blade is displayed for the new test type. Complete the configuration of the new test type. For example, if you have converted from one scripting language to another, you will need to add in a script for the new test type. Save the test when finished.
