Overview
Catchpoint clients can choose two levels of retention for trending data: one (1) year or three (3) years. Trending data is stored un-aggregated at the run level (raw). When a test is made inactive, its generated data over 90 days old will be deleted at the end of each month.
Catchpoint clients who choose the one year retention option will have their waterfall data stored for sixty (60) days. Those opting for three years' worth of storage will have their waterfall data retained for 100 days.
Data Retention
Waterfall Data is stored for 60 days under 1 year retention policy and for 100 days under 3 years retention policy.
Public Waterfalls are stored for as long as the waterfall data is available in the portal.
Capture Data is stored for 30 days under both retention options. (This includes but is not limited to Headers, Response Content, Screenshots, Film Strips).
If a test is deactivated, all capture data older than 7 days will be removed immediately, including filmstrip, screenshot, HTTP headers, and Response Content. The remaining 7 days of data is removed on a day-by-day basis until the test reaches 7 days of deactivation.
Alerts are stored for 90 days.
Catchpoint Instant Test Data is stored for 7 days. These are shown in the Symphony UI (instant test history list) for 7 days and in Legacy UI for 1 day only.
Webpagetest Instant Test Data is stored for 13 months.
Public Performance Charts are stored for 14 days.
Chart Images on the report email are stored for 14 days
In the event a Real User App is deactivated, data collected by that App is removed after 7 days of the App being inactive.
Inactive test data clean up
If a test has been consistently inactive for 13 months since the last change date, Catchpoint will perform data clean-up for all these tests.
In cases where there are inactive products, this will not apply to all tests under the product - prior to cleaning the test data, there will be a check on whether the test has any data within that window of inactivity.
If there is a test, then this test probably has been recently moved to this product. The clean-up will always follow the period for the test - not the product.
Inactive account & expired contracts
For tests, if the contract isn’t active or is unpaid, testing continues but a message is displayed indicating that a payment is due. For RUM, if the contract expires or the account is made inactive, the apps are deactivated and stop collecting data after 3 days.
