Welcome to the Afterglow release! Afterglow is the beautiful twilight phenomenon where a pinkish-white glow lingers in the sky after sunset. We hope the exciting new features in this release will leave you glowing!

Catchpoint + LogicMonitor

In case you haven’t heard, Catchpoint is now part of LogicMonitor! We are excited about this new beginning! We remain dedicated to providing the best Internet Performance and Digital Experience Monitoring to our combined customers, and are already integrating Catchpoint with LogicMonitor’s AI-first hybrid observability platform (read more below). Together, we are redefining how modern businesses run, ending downtime and eliminating blind spots across the backbone of today’s connected world.

LogicMonitor Edwin AI Integration

Edwin AI applies agentic AIOps to eliminate the execution gap in operations. Instead of chasing incidents, IT teams gain an AI agent that anticipates, acts, and resolves problems from end to end.

Catchpoint’s IPM data can now be viewed within Edwin AI’s unified interface, enabling IT teams to correlate network and end-user experience signals with data from infrastructure monitoring, logging, APM, security, and CMDB sources. This streamlines fragmented workflows and provides a single, cohesive view of your entire ecosystem.

This integration significantly accelerates root cause analysis by using AI-driven event correlation and contextual enrichment to cut through alert fatigue. Instead of chasing individual notifications, Edwin AI analyzes Catchpoint alerts in the context of your broader observability data to pinpoint the exact source of incidents faster. This shift from reactive troubleshooting to proactive operations helps your team reduce noise, resolve complex IT issues faster, and maintain peak service availability.

CDN Benchmark Overview Dashboard

CDN Benchmarks now include an overview dashboard to make understanding CDN performance easier and faster than ever. The dashboard includes a powerful matrix visualization that compares the performance of all major CDN providers across every geography. In a single view, users can instantly see which providers are excelling in specific markets, and which ones are falling behind, without having to sift through complex datasets or multiple reports.

Whether you're making traffic routing decisions, evaluating providers, or monitoring competitive performance, the CDN Benchmark Overview Dashboard turns detailed benchmarking data into actionable insight, all within Catchpoint’s intuitive interface.

Real User Network Score

The new Network Score in Real User Monitoring (RUM) helps you separate true application performance from end-user network noise. This feature automatically assesses each user’s network quality, allowing you to filter out sessions affected by poor connectivity, so your measurements stay clean, accurate, and focused on what you can control.

By understanding and filtering network quality, you can uncover the real story behind your application’s performance, without being distracted by external issues like weak Wi-Fi or slow ISPs.

Note: CDN Benchmarks must be enabled for the RUM App to capture Network Score.

Real User Browser Crash Logging

Catchpoint RUM now includes browser crash reports to help you identify when a page on your site causes one of the most frustrating user experiences. Using the Browser Reporting API, Catchpoint can receive crash data directly from the browser, even if the RUM JavaScript never loads, ensuring no critical event goes unnoticed.

This capability removes a major blind spot in understanding real-world reliability, giving you actionable diagnostics to pinpoint and resolve issues that were previously invisible. With detailed crash insights, you can better protect your users’ experience, improve stability, and uncover tricky problems before they impact your business.

Endpoint TCP Traceroute Test

Endpoint monitoring provides visibility into network and application performance directly from real user devices, capturing what users actually experience across last-mile, Wi-Fi, VPN, and ISP paths. By supporting TCP-based traceroutes from endpoints, this visibility becomes more reliable and application-relevant, especially in environments where ICMP is blocked. As a result you get increased data reliability, faster root cause identification, and higher confidence that the detected issues reflect real user impact rather than network testing limitations.

New GeoIP Data Provider

We’ve updated the third-party GeoIP data provider used across the platform to map IP addresses to geography, ISP, ASN, and network speed/connection insights. This enrichment powers location details in Real User Monitoring (where traffic is aggregated by city/region/country), and hop location mapping in traceroute visualizations for Endpoint and Synthetic tests.

With the new provider’s broader coverage and improved accuracy, you may see fewer “Unknown” geographies, and some location-based aggregates (e.g., pageviews by city/region/country) may shift as more IPs are resolved or resolved differently. You may also see more detailed location information (for example, more precise city/region).

*Note: The change to the new provider will follow soon after the release

WebPageTest Instant Test

WebPageTest helps you understand web performance quickly and with confidence. This update makes it easier to navigate the WebPageTest Instant Test UI, interpret results, and focus on what matters. Improvements include:

  • Added additional devices for testing, such as iPhone 16, Samsung S25 Ultra, Moto G Stylus and many more.
  • Added search functionality to waterfall
  • Total Time, Total Requests, DC Time and DC Bytes metrics added to Page Performance
  • Added queue count to location dropdown list

REST API Updates

REST API endpoints added to create, retrieve, update and delete Access Scope Assertions

  • Get/v4/assertions/accessscopes
  • Post/v4/assertions/accessscopes
  • Patch/v4/assertions/accessscopes
  • Delete/v4/assertions/accessscopes

Alert Instructions added to Alert Details REST APIs

  • GET/v4/test/alerts{alertsID}
  • GET/v4/test/alerts
  • GET/v4/test/alerts/item

Updated Help page to include CDN related errors

Rest API Bug Fixes

  • Addressed an issue that caused a 400 Bad Request when fetching division-level test raw data with a client-level API key.
  • Ensured node details now appear correctly in GET api/v4/tests/alerts.
  • Corrected behavior where the GET Alert endpoint returned a 400 error when using a Product ID to fetch alert details.
  • Added missing user attributions to Instant Test entries returned by the /account/activity REST API

REST API Versioning Policy

We support the latest stable version of our REST API, and the prior version for twelve months after a new version becomes stable. As of July 11, 2024, REST API v3 is the current stable version. REST API v4 is available in preview and may include breaking changes as it evolves.

To stay supported and take advantage of the latest improvements, we recommend keeping your integration up to date with the latest stable version.

Catchpoint Mobile App - EoL

As we concentrate our efforts on the areas that deliver the greatest customer impact, we’ve made the decision to deprecate the mobile app and remove it from app stores. The app will no longer receive updates or support; our team is here to help with any questions as you transition.

Additional Features

  • The SLA Classification and Insights page have been fully migrated from the legacy UI to the Symphony interface.
  • You can now navigate to Service Smartboard from Service Details in the Tracing Overview Dashboard.
  • You can now download waterfall as a jpeg from Records page
  • Deprecated the IE [Internet Explorer] monitor across the portal due to its end-of-life status.

Bug Fixes

  • Updated alert handling so webhooks now receive alerts as expected after a successful trigger.
  • Eliminated an Internal Application Error seen when adding a service to Stack Map.
  • Resolved an “Unexpected error when saving Product” that occurred when adding Tests via Recommendations in Stack Map.

Catchpoint Agent Release

Some of the features in the release (where noted) require the latest version of the Catchpoint Agent to be running on the selected Node. The Catchpoint Agent rollout involves two dimensions:

Public Nodes managed by Catchpoint: Agent rollout on public nodes takes place in stages following each release. Agent release announcements are posted here: https://nodestatus.catchpoint.com/

Private Enterprise Nodes managed by customers: Customers can upgrade Enterprise Nodes any time at their convenience. We advise customers to upgrade Enterprise nodes promptly after each release to benefit from the new feature functionality.
Instructions for upgrading Enterprise nodes can be found in the help documentation.
