Reports

In Catchpoint, data from one or more tests can be combined in a scheduled report which is delivered to your chosen contacts via email. Reports are based on templates that define what data to include and how it is displayed. You can also specify the report's frequency and the recipients.

Reports can be accessed in Catchpoint via the Reports Module in the left navigation menu. Here you can view a list of reports, modify existing reports and set up new reports.

Report Properties

  • Name - a unique name identifying the report
  • Template - defines what data to include in a report and how to display it
  • Include Errors - specifies whether to include test errors in the report. Options include none, include top 5 errors, and include top 10 errors.
  • Status- active or inactive. Inactive reports will not be sent.
  • Test - the test(s) whose data will be included in the report. The test types you can select may be limited by the chosen template (some templates only work for specific test types). You can choose a maximum of 200 tests per report.
  • Trim Timing Metrics - allows you to exclude timing metric data above and/or below specified thresholds.
  • Nodes - include data from all nodes, or a specified list of nodes.
  • Frequency - defines how often the report will be generated and sent out.
    • Note: Hourly reports are sent out ten minutes after the end of each hour. Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports are sent out the day after each time period at 2:00 AM in your account's timezone.
  • Time Frame - the time frame for which the report is pulling data. When sending a one-time report, you must specify exact start and end times.
  • Interval - determines the time interval for the axis/column (only available for report templates that have Time as dimension or field.)
  • Recipients - the list of contacts that will be sent this report.
  • Subject - the subject line of the report email.
  • Description - a description of the report which will be included in the body of the report email.

Reporting data older than 40 days

If the data you are trying to include in the report is older than 40 days and you set the end date to the current time, it will take 48 hours to generate the report. However, if the end date is set to 48 hours earlier, the report will generate immediately.

This is because we categorize historical data and its priority based on age, and will need 48 hours to process data older than 40 days. If the data used in the report is within 40 days old, the waiting period could be 0 to 2 hours, depending on the end date of the report.
