# Change to Repository Link for Catchpoint on Linux 8 Operating Systems

#### Overview
To enhance security for your Enterprise nodes running on Linux 8-based operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Rocky Linux 8, and Oracle Linux 8), we are making an important update to the repository link. Currently, the repository link points to HTTP, which we have been redirecting to HTTPS. Going forward, all HTTP requests will be completely blocked to ensure a more secure and reliable connection to our repository.

#### Affected Operating Systems
This update applies to the following Linux 8-based operating systems:
- **Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8**
- **Rocky Linux 8**
- **Oracle Linux 8**

If you are using any of these operating systems, please follow the instructions below to update your repository link.

#### Action Required

To ensure continued access to the Catchpoint repository and maintain your ability to update the Catchpoint agent, you must update your repository link to HTTPS.

Please execute the following command on all instances running the affected operating systems:

```bash
sudo wget -O /etc/yum.repos.d/catchpoint_el8.repo https://repo.catchpoint.net/repo/rhel8/catchpoint_el8.repo
```

#### Important Notes:
- **No action is required** for instances running on operating systems other than Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Rocky Linux 8, or Oracle Linux 8.
- This update must be completed **by February 28, 2025**. After this date, failure to update the repository link will prevent you from updating the Catchpoint agent to the latest version.

#### Why is this Change Happening?
As part of our ongoing commitment to security, we are blocking all HTTP requests to our repository. While HTTP traffic is still being redirected to HTTPS, blocking HTTP requests entirely will ensure more robust security and reduce potential vulnerabilities.

#### Support
If you have any questions or encounter issues during the update process, our support team is available to assist you.
