Catchpoint RUM allows you to see a complete outside-in view of the real user experience, enabling you to make better IT decisions with real user data and algorithms to predict business outcomes of IT projects prior to deployment.
Tealium is a leader in tag-management solutions with the fastest tag-delivery network, allowing customers to easily control their data and the technology used on their websites.
Together Catchpoint RUM and Tealium are unique in that Tealium will automatically enhance Catchpoint RUM with customized data specific to the site such as page groups, A/B test breakdowns, any user-defined site-specific metrics or breakdowns, and conversion data such as items sold, revenue, and order ID. This greatly reduces the steps required in order to get the full value from Catchpoint RUM in order to start correlating site performance to user engagement and business KPIs.
Catchpoint Setup
To use Catchpoint RUM, simply create an “App” from within the Catchpoint portal. This will generate the tracking code that can be placed on a website. The tracking code provides the base feature set, but this can be highly customized to a given site using tag tokens.
Make note of the ID associated with your new RUM App.

Also keep track of the tag version which can be found in the bottom of the page. We recommend using the latest version to receive the latest features.

Tealium Setup
Now that you have added a RUM App and copied the associated App ID and tag version, head over to Tealium to create a new tag.

A dialogue window will appear. From here you can search for “Catchpoint”. The Catchpoint RUM tag configuration window requires a title and the “Rest URL” field which includes the App ID and the version of the RUM tag you wish to use.

After this, you can customize the rules and data mappings as desired and deploy the tag to your desired environment.
Additional Configuration
Tealium automatically passes through custom data such as Page Groups, Variations, and Insight. This requires configuration in Catchpoint in order to capture the data. The process for adding this data is described in the main RUM documentation.
