A Record is a detailed representation of all data collected by Catchpoint relative to a single Test RUN or RUM pageview.
Accessing Records

In the Analysis module you can select Records and then select a Source and choose a specific record to view.

In a Test's properties page you can click the down-arrow at the top next to Smartboard, select Records, and then select a specific record from the timeline.

When viewing your list of Tests or Real User Apps in Control Center, you can click the three-dot menu next to any of them and select Records.

In Smartboard you can view a scatterplot and then click an individual data point to view the corresponding record.
Record Sections:
The information displayed in a Record depends on the data source. The sections listed in this article apply to common test types including Web, API, Playwright, Puppeteer, and HTTP
- Header - information identifying the Test run including its Run Time, Node, Node IP, and Monitor.
- Test Summary: a series of Tiles displaying summary metrics for the Test.
- Step Selection: For multi-step tests, you can select which step to view.
- Activity Timeline: a simple timeline spanning the range of the Test run with color-coded bars indicating the number of simultaneous file transfers happening at each instant.
- Gantt Chart: a filterable timeline depicting all activity within a given timeframe using color-coded horizontal bars.
Analysis Workflow
Open the desired record using one of the procedures detailed above in the Accessing Records section.
Once the page has drawn a waterfall chart, you can search, filter, or customize the chart using the various options on the toolbar above the Details table.
- To change the columns displayed in the Waterfall table, click the Columns button and then check the boxes next to the desired columns and click Apply.
- To search for a specific host or file, enter a value in the Search field and press Enter.
- To filter the table to display a single type of element, click one of the Filter Type options.
- Use the Requests drop-down to filter by request type or status
- Use the Zones drop-down to filter by zones
- To download the Record, click the Download button, then select the desired file format. The record is downloaded with a file name containing the date and time interval used to generate the chart. Header details are included along with a row for each element, and columns describing the file and each step of the communication involved in loading the webpage.
