# Network Devices

The Network Devices feature enables you to specify the IP addresses of network devices you control - such as gateways, firewalls, and proxies - and assign friendly names to them. This makes it easier to quickly identify devices when analyzing your Endpoint telemetry data.

Some types of devices are named automatically (e.g. wifi routers, which are named based on the detected SSID of the network.) We generally advise against creating Network Device entries for these devices.

**Adding a Network Device**

1. Navigate to **Control Center > Endpoint > Network Devices**.
2. Click **Create**
3. Input a friendly name for the device. (e.g. "Main Office Router" or "East VPN Gateway")
4. Input the external IP address, IP Range, or IP Cidr of the device.
5. Select the Device Type.
6. Click **Save**.

Once configured, traffic to/from the network device will be listed with its assigned friendly name in Catchpoint's analysis tools.
