How to Customize Catchpoint for easier use

Overview

There are customization features & settings in Catchpoint that you can use for more optimized and easier usage of the portal. When charting and analyzing performance data on the portal, there may be areas that are more applicable to your use case, and you can reduce the number of navigation steps to get into your data by using the charting features & settings below.

Saving Chart Type and Favorite Charts

You may find yourself repeatedly viewing the same Performance Charts, as you tend to view the same metrics in the same locations with similar settings each time. To address this, CatchpointFavorite ChartsandSave Charts Typefeatures allow you to save your frequently used charts and chart types as favorites.

How to Save Chart Type

  1. Go to Explorer andselect the Tests to be charted
  2. Modify the Metrics selection as desired, choosing up to ten metrics, then click Update
  3. Click Add Charts in the Quick Charts section
  4. Input a name for this chart and click Save.

Your new Quick Chart can now be selected from the Quick Charts dropdown any time.

How to Add Favorite Charts

  1. Go to Explorer and select the Tests to be charted.
  2. Click Add to Favorites at the top.
  3. Provide a Name, and optionally a Description, then click Save.
  4. To load a Favorite Chart, click the Favorites button at the top and select the saved favorite that you wish to load

Creating Custom Dashboards

Creating a custom dashboard allows you to put information that is most important to you-like your favorite charts and important performance data-into widgets on one, easy-to-read page.

How to Create a Custom Dashboard

  1. To begin customizing a new dashboard, open the Dashboard screen, click the menu at the upper left, and select New Dashboard at the bottom.
  2. The New Dashboard pane will appear, where you can:
    • Assign a name for the custom dashboard
    • Add and configure one or more widgets
  3. Once you have completed these tasks, click Save.

Assigning Primary Dashboard To Contacts

Different Catchpoint portal users may have different requirements for tests and use-cases to focus on. Assigning a primary dashboard to a contact makes it easier for them to get an overview of the tests that are relevant to their needs and requirements upon logging in the portal.

How to Assign Primary Dashboard

  1. Log in to portal.catchpoint.com as a client administrator and go to the Contacts module.
  2. Click on the contact you want to assign a primary dashboard to.
  3. Select the desired primary dashboard from the drop down.
  4. In addition to assigning a primary dashboard to the contact, you can also prevent the contact from viewing other dashboards by selecting Do not display other dashboards.
