The Catchpoint Portal allows you to manually choose to Enforce Failure (Terminate a test run) based on the time elapsed. Catchpoint web tests have a default timeout threshold of 30 seconds. For Transaction tests, the default threshold is 30 seconds per step.
If a test run fails to complete within the 30 second timeframe, then the test run is terminated and marked as a failure.
There may be scenarios where the webpage is expected to load beyond 30 seconds, or it may be that a shorter timeframe should be treated as a failure. To support such scenarios, Catchpoint allows you to change the timeout value.
The Enforce failure if test run is longer than option under Advanced Settings in any Test Properties page allows you to specify the timeout threshold. The available values are 5,10,15,20,30 (default),60,90 and 120 seconds.
For Transaction tests, this option has the same time intervals as above, but the selection is applied per step, such that the overall test fails if/when any single step exceeds the threshold.
